TALLEST STATUE IN THE WORLD

The tallest statue in the world, is the “Statue of Unity” located in the Indian state of Gujarat. This monumental structure stands at an awe-inspiring height of 182 meters (597 feet), making it a symbol of pride and a marvel of engineering prowess. The statue is dedicated to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, a prominent leader of the Indian independence movement and a key figure in the country’s history.

Designed by Indian sculptor Ram V. Sutar, the Statue of Unity was unveiled on October 31, 2018, commemorating Patel’s contributions to the unification of India. The statue’s construction required immense effort and resources, involving thousands of workers and engineers.

Beyond its sheer height, the Statue of Unity has become a significant tourist attraction, drawing visitors from all over the world to marvel at its grandeur. Its location on the picturesque Sadhu Bet island, surrounded by the serene waters of the Narmada River, adds to its allure.

The statue stands as a tribute to Patel’s vision of a united India and serves as a reminder of the nation’s rich history and the sacrifices made by its leaders. The project’s cost has been widely reported, with estimates ranging from around ₹2,989 crore (approximately $430 million USD) to ₹3,000 crore (approximately $430 million USD) at the time of its completion in 2018.
